Rotman Criollo’s Doctoral Thesis entitled “An approach for hydrogeological data management, integration and analysis. Plataforma de Gestió i Anàlisi de dades geològiques e hidrogeològiques a la ciutat de Barcelona” was awarded by the IIAMA Evaluation Committee in the category “Water Access and City”.

Developed at the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC), together with the UPC and the Barcelona City Council, his thesis focused on the optimization of the hydrogeological resource management. To this end, Rotman designed and developed tools to improve the data analysis and management of underground waters.
The award was given by the Research institute of Water and Environmental Engineering, from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (IIAMA-UPV). The objective of this award is to recognize those PhD projects that stand out because of their scientific-technical quality, innovation, and positive impact to society and the environment.
