The researchers Juliette Bedrossiantz and Carlos Barata, from the Environmental Toxicology group, participated yesterday in Saló de l’Ensenyament, the most important education fair in Barcelona, which will be running until March 20th.
Within the Espai Ciència, organised by the Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació, the IDAEA researchers run a workshop on aquatic models in environmental toxicology: zebrafish and the microcrustacean Daphnia. Students could observe Daphnia individuals through the magnifying glass, and learned the use of these organisms in the control and assessment of the toxicity of a wide range of chemical compounds.
The Minister of Research and Universities of the Generalitat, Gemma Geis, also visited the space and talked to the researchers and some students about their future career perspectives.
