The Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC) has published its biannual scientific report. This report contains all scientific publications, conferences, presentations, outreach activities and media appereances in 2019 and 2020, taking into account all the scientific, technical and administrative staff who work at the center.
In this edition, the report contains a milestone in IDAEA’s history. In 2019, IDAEA was distinguished with the Severo Ochoa Distinctive of Excellence granted by the State Research Agency attached to the Ministry of Science and Innovation. This accreditation was a recognition of IDAEA’s work in environmental research over the last 10 years, and is allowing to promote the synergistic expansion of its scientific talent and research programs.
The COVID-19 pandemic has also influenced the scientific development of IDAEA in these two years. The center has faced this challenge by combining efforts with COVID-19-related scientific committees across the country and producing publications investigating the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in air, surfaces and wastewater, among other research lines.
