IDAEA researchers Enric Vázquez, Sandra Pérez, and Damià Barceló have participated in two episodes of the podcast Horizon 2030, organized by Museu de les Aigües and conducted by the scientific journalist Núria Jar.

Several experts from different fields have contributed with their knowledge to this audio series, which is centered on water and its crucial role to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In Episode nº2 The Sustainable Development Goals and water, the researcher Enric Vázquez highlights the importance of groundwaters as a resource of fresh water to meet the needs of an increasing world population.

 

In Episode nº 8 Water quality: prevention of pollution, the researcher Sandra Pérez explains how, despite improved sewage treatment systems, water is usually polluted with anti-inflammatory substances and antibiotics, posing a risk to the wildlife and human health.
