Last week, the Sustainability Committee of the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC) celebrated World Water Day, which is held on 22nd March, launching the #Science4Sustainability campaign. The Committee made a live survey using a votation kit made of vases, cups, and plugs, lent by the Barcelona City Hall. The employees voted for the place they live in and the mean of transport by which they come to work. A total of 352 people voted, including staff from IQAC and CID, with whom they share a building. The results showed that the majority of people use public transport to come to the center, although the bicycle and walking were also among the most voted options.
The campaign finished with an explanation of the labels that the Sustainability Committee and the Communication and Outreach Department have prepared to raise awareness about saving water and energy. They also made an infographic to hang on the doors of laboratories and offices so that people check if everything is off when they leave.
