The coach of adolescents and family Carles Ventura gave last 21st January a talk about the good responsible use of mobile phones and social networks via the Zoom app, aimed to parents of adolescents, and as a scheduled activity in the proyect CSIC4Girls – Las chicas son de Ciencias, supported by FECYT (Federación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología)
During the hour and a half that this workshop lasted, Carles went much in deep on how phones are already one more tool and that it is better to know how to educate and teach children how to use theese devices and not forbid them. Communication was also a key topic in this talk, giving examples about how to reconduct a discussion, how to get closer to them without the mobile being a disctraction, and so on. The nearly 40 assistants could see that many of our children’s behaviours are produced by immitation, making them realize that they also must make an effort in order not to be always watching the screen.
