The Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC) is in the 5th position of the entire CSIC in securing funding from the H2020 European Research and Innovation Framework Programme. In total, 30 PIs coordinate or participate in H2020 actions, and the total H2020 projects represent 9.3 M€.
The CSIC institutes with more actions from the H2020 Programme ahead of IDAEA are the Barcelona Institute of Materials Science (ICMAB) in the 1st position, the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM), the National Center for Biotechnology (CNB), and the Institute of Nanoscience and Materials of Aragon (INMA).
The CSIC is the 3rd European institution regarding the number of actions (research projects obtained) of the EU Research and Innovation Framework Programme, the greatest multi-year funding tool of the European Commission to promote research, development, and innovation. The CSIC has obtained 882 projects, which represents a growth of 22% compared to the previous European Framework Programme. The CSIC is only behind the CNRS (France) and Fraunhofer (Germany).
