IDAEA participated in the last edition of EXPOQUIMIA 2021, the international chemistry event, which was held in Fira Barcelona on September 14-17.
15.000 visitors, 377 exhibitors, 654 brands and 150 buyers are the numbers of this edition
In this edition, EXPOQUIMIA has shown public solutions and technological innovations to promote the circular economy and decarbonization, as proposed by the United Nations 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

IDAEA participated in the event within the CSIC stand and presented two prototypes:
- Photobioreactor formed by a column filled with algae and cork, developed in the European Life SPOT project. This prototype is able to remove between 80 and 95% of pesticides and antibiotics from groundwater destined for irrigating crop fields.
- Passive sampler. This sustainable, portable, and autonomous (no connection to power is required) device is capable of removing contaminants from water and has been developed by Dra. Silvia Lacorte, from the Chemometrics research group.
