A new report concludes that there is enough scientific evidence about the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 through aerosols. Aerosols, which are generally poly-dispersed droplets and particles which have many different sizes, can take hours to fall. This is why the researchers consider airborne tranmission to be a key spreading way.
The authors of the report ─Antonio Alcamí and Margarita del Val(CNB-CSIC), Miguel Hernán (Harvard University), Pello Latassa (Gobierno La Rioja), José Luis Jiménez (University of Colorado), Xavier Querol (IDAEA-CSIC), Ana Robustillo (Hospital Universitario La Paz), Gloria Sánchez and Alfonso Valencia─ propose outdoor activities and ventilation or filtration to reduce the transmission by aerosols. These measures should be added to the use of masks, hygiene, social-distancing, remote work, and avoiding events with a high density of people, especially indoors.
