The IDAEA researchers Victor Matamoros, Mònica Escolà, Edward Pastor, and Alicia Cano presented their work within the NATURE project at the ecoSTP 2023 Conference, the 6th IWA International Conference on eco-Technologies for Wastewater Treatment. The poster about the NATURE project won the Best Poster Award.

Also, the scientific outcomes of the NATURE project were explained in oral presentations:
- Edward Pastor: Nature-Based Solution (NBS) as a tertiary wastewater treatment to reduce antibiotics into the aquatic ecosystems
- Alicia Cano: Assessment of intensified constructed wetlands for the attenuation of persistent, mobile, and toxic compounds from groundwater and wastewater.
The NATURE project aims to reduce antibiotics, pathogens, and antimicrobial resistance in aquatic ecosystems. To do so, the project provides scientific evidence about the use of nature-based solutions for water treatment at the catchment scale. These solutions are useful for reducing pollutants in aquatic ecosystems, so they will be implemented to attenuate the ecotoxicological effect of anthropogenically-impacted water.
